Tips and Tricks for DMRC PSYCHO TEST

DMRC psycho test is not tough because of its question's level. But it is tough because of time constraints. So the more you practice before exam, less time it will take in the actual test and chances of selection will be more. However, there are some tips which can help you to score more.

1. In the figure association test, always start with the most complex part first and try to locate it in the given options. most complex means the one with most corners. Then locate the smaller pieces.

2. In the observation test, start searching from second row, than third and fourth respectively. In most of questions, dissimilarity is in 2nd or 3rd row, so it will save you some time in most question if you attempt in this way.

3. In memory test, try to link the image with number by some story which you can memorize easily. Or if you can, try to see digit in image itself. This sounds difficult to remember 42 figures in 5 min. but with practice, it becomes very easier with time.

4. In personality test, you are not allowed to skip any question. So try to remain on the positive side always. Select the option which makes you look more employable.

TEST 6: Machine test

This test is for measuring the reaction time of the candidates. This test is held on computer with the help of altered keyboard shown in figure.

On the monitor, there is traffic signal containing 3 lights: red, green and yellow.
On the keyboard you have to keep your finger on blue key all the time. Blue key represents Neutral mode. You can use only one finger all the time.
When a light blinks on the monitor, see which color light it is. Release the blue key, press the key which light has glow on the monitor and come back to blue one immediately. Do it as fast as possible. The test goes on for about 1-2 minutes.
Don't press wrong color key at any cost. Although nobody is sure, but it is said that 100% accuracy is required in this test.
There will be a demo test for every candidate to make you familiar with the process.

TEST 5: Personality test

The personality test or aptitude test is conducted to analyse candidates aptitude and thought process. The questions asked in this test are general in nature. Candidates are required to check the most appropriate answer from the list of given options "according to himself". One option which is right for one candidate might be wrong for another candidate. "koi bhi option galat nahi hota isme, apne hisaab se tick karna hai". This tests candidates aptitude on the standards of required job profile.

The invigilator also told us that you can not skip any question in this test. Attempt all questions.
Questions are like this:

DMRC PSYCHO TEST: Pattern and Myths.

1. DMRC PSYCHO TEST EXAM PATTERN:

The details of all the tests will be discussed separately.

2. CUT OFF: DMRC never reveals its cut off marks in any of the exams. not even to the selected candidates. Even if you file RTI, they won't tell you the cut off of psycho test. Only written exam cut off can be know through RTI. however, I have asked to several selected candidates and all of them have observed that in psycho test one should focus on accuracy and not on the number of attempts. Try to do atleast more than 60% correct in every test.

3. NEGATIVE MARKING: There is NO negative marking in any of the tests.

4. RESERVATION: There is NO reservation in PSYCHO test. That means DMRC is not obliged to fill all the posts advertised. The cut off in this psycho test is same for all the categories. If not a single candidate is able to clear psycho test from a category even than no compromise will be done and seats will go vacant.

My experience of DMRC psycho test.

Hello friends,
In this post I am going to share my own experience of Psycho test. I had applied for the post of station controller/train operator. But as you know that psycho test is held for both sc/to and CRA post. the pattern is also same. I had cleared the written exam and was called for psycho test. This was my first attempt.
I had given my psycho test on 3rd April 2017 at DMRC training institute, shashtri park, Delhi. If you are also called at the same venue, be sure to reach atleast 30 min prior to time mentioned in admit card because you also have to check in at the gate. They have a list of candidates called on the particular day at the gate itself and you have to sign on the list after checking your particulars. Training institute can be reached either from shashtri park metro station or kashmiri gate metro station by auto or e-rickshaw.
I am sharing my number of attempts in all tests of Psycho test to give you an idea about how much should be attempted to be on safe side.

1. Embedded figure test: 18/18 (20 min.)
2. Figure association test: 21/25 (5 min.)
3. Observation test: 23/30 (5 min.)
4. Memory test: 42/42 (5min. + 5 min.)
5. Personality test: 36/36 (15 min.)
6. Machine test: zero error

Result came out on 5 May 2017 and I was successful and was called for interview.

About this blog.

Hello friends, As you already know that DMRC and all other metro rail corporations conduct recruitment exams for the post of station controller/train operator (sc/to) and customer relations assistant (cra). After you clear the written test for these posts, you have to give a Psycho test at second stage of recruitment. This is a very important part of selection procedure as most number of students are failed in this test.
The selection rate in DMRC psycho test for the post of sc/to was just 17% in 2015 and merely above 40% in 2016.
this data might have given you the picture about the toughness of the exam. but actually the exam is not tough in itself. but it is the lack of awareness about the pattern and lack of study material for the exam due to which candidates fail. this is also the reason why candidates fall prey to coaching centers and spent upto 5000-8000 Rs. for merely 4-5 days of classes!
I had given my psycho test on 3rd April 2017 and had cleared in first attempt without any coaching. Therefore I think my experience must not be limited to me and have created this website to help out other students in need.
